James Curtis is a singer songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from The Woodlands, TX. His early exposure to piano at the age of 6 sparked a wildfire of passion for playing music. By the age of 16, he’d begun mastering cello, flute, drums and guitar performing anything from classical concertos to 70s heavy blues rock. And at 18, he started singing after discovering the raspy poetics of John Mayer and Dave Matthews.
His wrote his first song in college titled “All Fall Down” which illustrates the good and hard times in life. “Leaves on trees, colors bright, hope one day they’ll take flight, but they don’t know they’ve lived their lives, and they all fall down”. Commenting on the tune, he said, “It’s about the balance, life can be bright and beautiful. But in other times it can be gloomy and dreary. There’s a season for everything.”
Currently, James is regularly working with local bands, filling in on his various instruments. When artists need a helping hand with music production, he can be found in the studio offering his unique perspective to their musical creations. He can also be heard in Houston area coffee shops and bars performing his original tunes and covering radio favorites from the 80s, 90s and 2000s.
